Ms. Estrella is a certified and licensed genetic counselor with over 22 years of experience in clinical genetic counseling and clinical research.  In addition, she has a Master’s Degree in Neurobiology and 10 years’ experience working at the bench side in basic research. She currently serves as a clinical Senior Genetic Counselor and the Program Manager of the neuromuscular clinical research team at Boston Children’s Hospital.  Ms. Estrella’s activities include clinical genetic counseling for the neuromuscular and movement disorders programs, managing a 7-person team of clinical research assistants and participating in basic and translational neuromuscular research as part of the Louis Kunkel, Ph.D. neuromuscular research laboratory.  She is a member of the New England Regional Genetics Group and participates in training new genetic counselors by hosting students and working on thesis projects with several genetic counseling programs.
